EDITORIAL STANDARD
How Pool Builder Guide earns trust
Six rules govern the journal and local directory, from sourcing and review dates to corrections and the use of automation.
People before search engines
Every page should help a homeowner make or document a real decision. We do not publish a page merely to capture a keyword variation.
Source important claims
Safety, contractor, energy, and permit guidance should point to official or technically responsible sources. Local authorities control local requirements.
Separate discovery from endorsement
Directory inclusion and order do not represent quality, ranking, verification, payment, or recommendation.
Show meaningful review dates
A review date changes when an editor substantively checks or revises a page, not simply to make an old page appear fresh.
Correct the record
Specific, evidenced correction requests are reviewed and material corrections are applied to the page and its review record.
Explain automation
Automation may assist research organization, data formatting, and production. It does not remove our responsibility to check the usefulness, sourcing, and presentation of published work.
